Stefano Faravelli's Japan Travel Notebooks on View at Castello di Racconigi
At the Castello di Racconigi, the exhibition titled Stefano Faravelli. Specchi del Giappone will run until November 1, 2026, presenting the artist's unique travel notebooks and materials for the first time. Faravelli, who was born in Turin in 1959, brought the carnet de voyage style to Italy. The exhibition takes place in an 18th-century area adorned with antique Chinese papers and once visited by Tsar Nicholas II in 1909. His most recent carnet, released by EDT for its 50th anniversary, adds to his previous explorations of China, Mali, India, and Madagascar. Inspired by family photos and Akira Kurosawa's Rashomon, he studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti and worked with Guido Ceronetti at the Teatro dei Sensibili. Dario Bragaglia conducted the interview.
