Standard Equipment's 3070 Tic Tac Toe Set Turns Anodised Aluminium Into a Design Object

Canadian brand Standard Equipment has released the 3070 Tic Tac Toe set, an anodised aluminium board measuring 18.5 cm square with a 5mm profile. The piece belongs to the brand's Tools for Non-Standard Living collection, which places considered design within ordinary domestic rituals. Precise geometry and solid construction are central to the object, whose lines and proportions are described as deliberate. The compact square format carries what the brand frames as an architectural quality, lending a sense of occasion to one of the least demanding games. Built to be handled and lived with, the set positions a familiar pastime inside the everyday landscape of the home rather than behind glass. The release sits alongside other items in the brand's homeware and office output, including the xBloom Studio Automatic Coffee Maker, MODU building toys and the Momentum Desk Tray.
