Spier Light Art 2027 Opens Call for Proposals

The ninth Spier Light Art exhibition, a leading event in contemporary light art in South Africa, has opened its call for submissions. This celebration of creativity will run from February 26 to March 21, 2027, at Spier Wine Farm in Stellenbosch, under the curation of Vaughn Sadie. Artists, designers, collectives, and students are invited to present their innovative light-centric artwork, which may include installations, digital pieces, and sculptures. A panel led by Sadie will review the entries, and those shortlisted will need to submit in-depth proposals for final selection in early October 2026. Interested participants must apply by July 21, 2026, and there will be information sessions on June 20 and July 4, 2026.
