Space Shuttle Endeavour to Stand Vertical in New California Science Center Exhibition
For the first time, the Space Shuttle Endeavour will be showcased in a vertical position at the new Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center, set to open on November 13, 2026, within the California Science Center in Los Angeles. Towering nearly 200 feet, the shuttle stack features solid rocket boosters and the last remaining flight-qualified external fuel tank. Guests will have the opportunity to observe it from various perspectives, including a top-down view through a glass floor. The unveiling will also include a rocket launch simulation enhanced by fog machines. Additionally, the center will host 100 aerospace artifacts and 100 new exhibits, such as a replica flight deck. Endeavour, which completed 25 missions from 1992 to 2011, was transported through the streets of LA in 2012. A timed-entry reservation system with a nominal service fee will be implemented by the museum.
