Souvinha House by Parto: A Topography-Responsive Residence in Portugal

The Souvinha House, designed by the Portuguese architecture firm Parto, is a residential project completed in 2024. Located in Portugal, the house is nestled on a sloped plot where oaks and cork oaks dominate the landscape. The architects, Francisco Pitrez, Filipa Neiva, and Tiago Sá Gomes, positioned the structure lower on the slopes to integrate with the topography, offering views towards Senhora da Graça on the horizon. The project covers an area of 337 square meters and was curated by Susanna Moreira. The lead team included Nuno Silva, with Sr. Alberto Barroco serving as the general contractor. Photographs of the house were taken by Francisco Ascensão. The design emphasizes a harmonious relationship with the natural surroundings, using the terrain as a protective element.
