Sou Kit Gom Presents 30 New Paintings at Galeria Mayer Mizrahi in São Paulo

On October 3, Galeria Mayer Mizrahi will unveil "O arrebatamento da pintura," a solo exhibition by Sou Kit Gom, curated by Denise Mattar. The exhibition showcases 30 paintings created between 2023 and 2026, delving into themes of color, gesture, and the materiality of paint. Mattar emphasizes the contrast between Gom's original intentions and the evolving painting process. Gom remarks, "When I paint, everything changes," as familiar objects shift into color and form. He refers to this as "renouncing the figure," while maintaining a grounding in his work. The opening event starts at 11am at Alameda Ministro Rocha Azevedo, 1082, Jardim Paulista, São Paulo. Established in 2001, Galeria Mayer Mizrahi is dedicated to Brazilian contemporary art and plans to launch a new e-commerce platform in 2023.
