Sophie Lou Jacobsen Launches Disco Aperitivo Collection at Milan Design Week
Sophie Lou Jacobsen, a New York-based French-American designer specializing in homeware, is organizing a disco-themed event in Milan prior to her main showcase at Bar Doria on 21 April 2026. At this event, she will unveil her latest 14-piece collection, Disco Aperitivo, which includes glassware, serving plates, trays, placemats, and an ashtray, all inspired by the Italian disco scene and films such as Suspiria (1977) and Dressed to Kill (1980). The collection features clear glass adorned with Swarovski crystals and enamelled copper accents, reflecting the sophistication of early 20th-century elegance and the edge of 1980s punk. Guests at the Milan gathering include Valentina Ciuffi of Alcova and Simona Flacco of Simple Flair, with music by DJ Zoë Mowat and cocktails crafted by Morris Maramaldi of Bene Bene Bar. Forniture Pallotta will provide a nostalgic buffet, and the collection will debut during Milan Design Week, starting 20 April. Jacobsen’s frequent visits to Milan are linked to her relationship with Italian author Davide Coppo and her increasing participation in Milan Design Week.
