Sony ULT Party Speakers Hit Record Low Prices, Led by $102 Off the ULT Tower 7

Sony's ULT line of party speakers has dropped to its lowest prices yet, with the ULT Tower 7 now $548 after a $102 discount. The Tower 7, which WIRED reviewer Chris Haslam rates as the pick for deejaying, delivers 420 watts of output—enough for a small stage—and runs up to 30 hours on battery, with multiple inputs and Bluetooth for connecting a mic or acting as a makeshift PA. Haslam notes the bass won't match a club but is felt physically on tracks like Kendrick Lamar's "HUMBLE.," and he wishes the unit had a retractable handle; its size and weight make frequent moving impractical. A second, similarly large model offers 300 watts, the same wired and wireless connectivity, $200 less during the sale, and 20 hours of battery life, making a nearby outlet advisable for long sessions. The compact ULT Field 7, Haslam's choice for the best compact party speaker, suits dorms and apartments and can move outdoors; its IP67 rating resists dust and water, including a quick accidental dunk, and it includes mic and guitar inputs alongside Bluetooth, with savings just over $50. For maximum volume, a larger plug-in model outputs 2,150 watts—everything the Tower 7 has plus more—and Best Buy has cut $300 from its MSRP. At the smaller end, the portable, waterproof ULT Field 1 targets the beach, campsite, or backyard; it has fallen below $100 before, but with electronics prices rising broadly, the current deal may set a new low.
