SOIA Design's Mamuli Restaurant in Krasnodar Translates Georgian Culture into Layered Interior

Mamuli, a restaurant located in Krasnodar, Russia, has been completed by SOIA Design, a firm established by Anton and Ekaterina Baklan. This venue reinterprets Georgian identity through modern hospitality design, steering clear of traditional decorative motifs. Instead, the studio drew inspiration from Georgian culture, incorporating its ideas, shapes, materials, and associations into contemporary architectural features. The interior boasts a warm, earthy color scheme with gold plaster that reflects light, custom chandeliers resembling Georgian beehives, and dark balusters shaped like peppercorns. A dining table with an integrated fireplace serves as a functional and dramatic focal point. Designed as a versatile social space, it includes various seating arrangements, a tasting room for Georgian wine and cuisine, a performance stage, and a children's play area. The restrooms also reflect the overall material narrative.
