SO Arquitetura & Design completes 315 m² House of the Shattered Rock in Portugal

Completed in 2024, the House of the Shattered Rock is a 315-square-meter residential project in Portugal designed by SO Arquitetura & Design. The architects describe the structure as essential rather than minimalist or brutalist. Photography was handled by Ivo Tavares Studio, while construction was executed by Tecnicouto. Engineering services were provided by Teorema Contínuo - Unipessoal Lda, with lighting design by TECNIQ. Multiple technical aspects including acoustics, hydraulic engineering, and thermal systems were managed by Roberto Aguiar. The project utilized products from manufacturers Technal, Bosch, and Carlos Pinheiro Sistemas. Landscape architecture and enforcement were also overseen by SO Arquitetura & Design. Curated by Susanna Moreira, the house represents a focused architectural statement.
