SMITH's 'Ici grand ouvert' at Mac Val: A Retro-Prospective of Consciousness

From May 23, 2026, until January 31, 2027, the Mac Val in Vitry-sur-Seine will host 'Ici grand ouvert,' a 'retro-prospective' exhibition by the artist-researcher SMITH. Born in Paris in 1985, SMITH holds a master's degree in philosophy from the Sorbonne and has studied at both the École de la photographie d'Arles and Le Fresnoy. His artistic endeavors encompass photography, video, installation, and performance. Curated alongside Franck Lamy, the exhibition showcases works created since 2007, such as 'Löyly' (2007–2012) and 'Dami' (2022–ongoing). Attendees can enjoy an immersive experience by lying on beds, while monthly 'Mues collectives' will feature contributions from Jean-Philippe Uzan, Marie NDiaye, and Matthieu Barbin. The exhibition's title is displayed in neon at the entrance.
