SLQS Gallery in Shoreditch Focuses on Female and Queer Artists

Founded in 2024 by Sarah Le Quang Sang, SLQS Gallery is located at 20 Club Row, London, E2 7EY, and focuses on promoting female and queer artists to combat ongoing inequalities within the art sector. The gallery challenges traditional labels such as 'emerging' and 'mid-career', which often marginalize artists with caregiving duties or non-linear career paths. Previous exhibitions have showcased works like Hoa Dung Clerget's nail art representation of the Vietnamese diaspora, Damaris Athena's study of 'undercurrents', and Diana Taylor's fusion of digital and analogue visual styles. Currently, Beverley Duckworth's installation features an irrigation system for seeds, reflecting themes of networking and resistance through her focus on the afterlife of discarded materials. The gallery, now ten shows in, was recognized as Gallery of the Month by Paul Carey-Kent in his FAD column.
