Slow Hand Design 2026 Showcases Thai Craft Innovation at Milan Design Week

From April 19 to 26, 2026, the Slow Hand Design 2026 exhibition will be held at Superstudio Events in Milan, Italy, during Milan Design Week. Organized by Thailand's Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) and curated by Asst. Prof. Eggarat Wongcharit, the event features 25 selected Thai brands under the theme 'Heritage Reimagined: The Futuristic Thai Crafts Evolution'. DOTS Design Studio designed the exhibition environment, which includes graphics by emerging designer Natthaporn Khamdamrongkiat. The showcase highlights innovative materials like mycelium tiles from Mush composites, bio-melanin fibers from INDIN STUDIO, and upcycled art tiles from WASOO made from rice husks and coffee parchment. Other participants include Suchai Craft, which transforms aluminum wares into Memphis-inspired objects, and Loqa, a brick-making brand that upcycles architectural waste. The exhibition aims to strengthen Thailand's global design presence through traditional craft knowledge integrated with forward-thinking design and agricultural-based upcycled materials.
