Slayyyter Surprises Tommy Hilfiger NYFW Runway with Live Performance at the Plaza Hotel

Slayyyter performed a surprise set at Tommy Hilfiger's spring 2027 show during New York Fashion Week, held at the Plaza Hotel in New York. She sang "Unknown Loverz" and "Dance" from her album Wor$t Girl In America, bringing dance-floor energy to the hotel lobby. Backstage, she told Vogue she was "so nervous" and felt like she "blacked out." The same day, she released a new song and video for "Crank 2." In a 10-minute interview, Slayyyter discussed touring, fall fashion, and her next album. She said the forthcoming record, an inverse to Wor$t Girl In America, will be "deeper, more emotional" with softer, heartbroken moments about forgiveness and life reckonings, and will include about eight songs with lyrical and sonic links to the previous album. She teased a release date as "soon-ish." She described her performance look—shorts, a button-up, and western-style black leather boots—as vintage Americana pinup, and noted her love for baggy jeans, vintage silk dresses, 1930s pieces, and showgirl costumes. She also shared her DIY approach, making her own clothes from thrifted items. The "Crank 2" video, shot in the desert the day before her St. Louis show in 107-degree heat, was inspired by Midwest tornado sirens and choreographed by Renee. Slayyyter, who grew up in St. Louis, is currently on tour and plans to continue creating visuals after it ends.
