SIRENE: Contemporary Art for Benin Water Well at Maschio Angioino

From July 13 to 18, 2026, the Antisale dei Baroni of Castel Nuovo (Maschio Angioino) in Naples hosts SIRENE, a contemporary art group show curated by Francesca Baboni. Organized by Artesicura in collaboration with the Consulate of the Republic of Benin in Naples, represented by Consul Giuseppe Gambardella, and under the patronage of the Municipality of Naples (Mayor Gaetano Manfredi), the exhibition features works by Gianluca Capozzi, Carla Castaldo, and Giulia Maglionico. The title references the Siren Parthenope, a symbol of Naples, reinterpreted as a metaphor for female strength, transformation, and rebirth. The project aims to address social issues such as human dignity, respect for differences, and gender-based violence. On July 16, a private charity auction conducted by comedian Lino D'Angiò will sell donated artworks, with proceeds entirely funding a drinking water well in the Republic of Benin. Supporting partners include Ippolito Design and Mirabilia Auction House. Antonio Cecora, General Director of Artesicura, stated that art gains value when it generates awareness and leaves a mark, uniting artistic research, civil commitment, and international solidarity. The evening will feature speeches by Consul Giuseppe Gambardella and lawyer Angelo Pisani, author of 'L'altra violenza'.
