Simply The Best: Tina Turner Show at HANSA Theater Hamburg

The HANSA Theater in Hamburg is hosting "Simply The Best", a new Tina Turner tribute show that premiered recently. Unlike the lavish musical "Tina – Das Tina Turner Musical" that ran at the Operettenhaus from 2019 to 2022, this production is an intimate revue focusing on Turner's music and life, featuring Coco Fletcher as Tina Turner. Directed by Bernhard Kurz, known for "Stars in Concert", the show combines live performances with historical film footage and photos projected on a large screen, offering a journey through Turner's career from her early days as Anna Mae Bullock to her solo comeback. Fletcher's energetic portrayal, backed by a five-piece live band, delivers a powerful mix of soul, R&B, rock, and pop. The band includes guitarist Will Jacobs, bassist Björn Werra, keyboarder Helmut Bruger, drummer Brian Sauls, and saxophonist Nicky Manuputty. David Junior Serame plays Ike Turner, presenting a nuanced portrayal of the musician. The show runs until September 12 and from October 13 to 24, 2026, with performances Tuesday to Saturday at 19:30 and Sundays at 15:00. The venue is located at Steindamm 17, 20099 Hamburg.
