Silencio Marks 15 Years with Berlin Pop-Up in Former Watergate Club

architecture-design · 2026-10-05

Silencio, a nightclub established by Arnaud Frisch in Paris in 2011, renowned for its David Lynch-designed interiors, is set to launch a pop-up venue at the former Watergate nightclub in Kreuzberg, Berlin, later this month, with operations extending until May 2027. Each weekend will spotlight a different collective curating the events. For the inaugural weekend, Marc Leschelier will team up with Studio Karhard, Studio Raito, and Bureau Borsche. Frisch has previously featured artists like Lana Del Rey, Virgil Abloh, Prince, Björk, and Kendrick Lamar in his programming. His other ventures include Social Club and Wanderlust. Silencio has previously organized pop-ups at the Venice Biennale and Art Basel Miami Beach. A retrospective book on Silencio’s first 15 years is slated for release in September 2027. Frisch is contemplating a hotel project, although no concrete plans are in place.
