Sigma Switches 14mm f/1.4 DG Art Lens to Continuous Build-to-Order System

Sigma has announced a significant change in how photographers can purchase its popular 14mm f/1.4 DG Art lens. Starting December 1, 2026, the company will transition from a limited-time special-order system to a build-to-order model, accepting orders at any time. This move aims to reduce wait times and streamline production. The lens, first announced in June 2023, has been in high demand due to its unique fast ultrawide design, particularly favored for landscape and astrophotography. Previously, Sigma had shifted to a timed order system, with orders accepted from September 4 through October 31, and shipping beginning in March of the following year. The new system will fulfill orders on a first-come, first-served basis, with shipping expected to commence the month after orders open. Sigma apologized for the inconvenience caused by previous delays and expressed hope that the new approach will improve availability. Currently, the lens is available through authorized retailers like B&H for E-mount and L-Mount, but not directly from Sigma.
