Sienna Spiro on Her Debut Album 'Visitor' and the Accidental Hit 'Die on This Hill'

Sienna Spiro, a 20-year-old singer-songwriter with 1.2 billion global streams, has released her debut album 'Visitor' via Capitol Records. The album follows the success of her lead single 'Die on This Hill,' a piano-driven ballad that earned multiple applause breaks during a performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. In an interview with Vogue at the Ludlow Hotel in New York, Spiro discussed the accidental creation of the song, which began when she tried to learn 'Bohemian Rhapsody' on piano and rearranged the wrong chords. The phrase 'die on this hill' had long been on her mind. She finished the song in one day with producers Omar Fedi and Michael Pollack, whom she met for the first time. Initially conceived as an uptempo track, Fedi convinced her to make it a ballad, teaching her to let the song dictate its own direction. Spiro cited Frank Sinatra as a major influence, particularly his album 'In the Wee Small Hours,' and described her innate sadness as a driving force for her music. She dropped out of East London Arts & Music four years ago to pursue music full-time. Her vintage style is inspired by her father's love of '60s films and artists like Barbra Streisand and The Ronettes. Spiro's world tour is sold out.
