Shu Takahashi's Art Bridges East and West at Palazzo Cappa Cappelli in L'Aquila
'Shu Takahashi. A Japanese Artist in the Collection of Giorgio de Marchis. A Floating World Between East and West' is currently on display at Palazzo Cappa Cappelli in L'Aquila until September 4, 2026. This exhibition, curated by Anna Imponente and Ari Takahashi, is part of L'Aquila Capitale Italiana della Cultura 2026, with support from the Comune dell’Aquila, the Japanese Embassy, and the Japanese Institute of Culture in Rome. It showcases works from the foundation's collection alongside loans, featuring Takahashi's 1992 piece 'Incontro.' Born in Hiroshima in 1930, Takahashi moved to Rome in 1963, merging Eastern and Western artistic influences. The exhibition also emphasizes his connection with Giorgio de Marchis and includes videos of his site-specific interventions.
