Showdepot DE.GROEN: A Monolithic Cube for Contemporary Art in Arnhem
A new monolith, DE.GROEN, measuring 18 x 18 x 18 meters and designed by Space Encounters, has been inaugurated in Cleantech Park Arnhem, The Netherlands. This 1200 m² facility will showcase the contemporary art collection of artists and collectors Marjolein de Groen and Peter Jordaan, who have moved from a historic building in Arnhem's city center after a decade. Nina Vuga curated the project, while structural engineering was provided by Van Rossum Raadgevende Ingenieurs, landscape design by VIC Landscapes, and construction by Karbouw, with installations managed by DGMR. The team features Gijs Baks, Joost Baks, Lennart Brouwer, Kaj Nieuwenhoff, and Ceylan Ergelen. The cube contrasts sharply with the surrounding large-scale factory halls of the post-industrial area, housing the Collectie DE.GROEN.
