Shinsegae Group Debuts 336 Paul Cox Works at Frieze Seoul 2026

exhibition · 2026-10-02

During the Frieze Seoul event from September 2 to 5, 2026, the Shinsegae Group presented 336 pieces by French artist Paul Cox in the exhibition titled L'Immensité du Quotidien: The Monumental Everyday. This exhibition featured the debut of Cox's Diary series, which includes gouache paintings that chronicle ordinary objects and moments. Designed to offer a contemplative contrast to the fast pace of the art fair, this event also marked the beginning of Shinsegae Group's five-year collaboration with Frieze Seoul, aimed at enriching the intersection of retail and art while bolstering Korea's art scene. Since launching Shinsegae Gallery in 1963, the first art gallery established by a Korean retailer, the Shinsegae Group has expanded into multiple industries.
