Shared Therapeutic Art Blossoms at Sichuan Fine Arts Institute

The exhibition "Shared Therapeutic Art" was inaugurated on May 11, 2026, by the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, highlighting two years of results from art therapy education. This approach, which originated at the Brera Academy in Milan, was brought to China by Wang Zhongsheng, who returned on August 28, 2020. Differing from American art therapy, the Italian style focuses on the Greek concept of mind-body unity and humanistic teaching. In 2004, professors Tiziana Tacconi and Laura Tonani identified three fundamental principles: Art Therapy, Shared Work, and Artist Therapist. Wang's studio has facilitated nearly 200 workshops with around 4,000 participants. The exhibition showcases fifteen groups of works created between 2024 and 2026. Notably, in April 2026, art therapy was officially recognized in China's undergraduate curriculum. The exhibition was authored by Sun Haiyan, a professor at the institute.
