Seven standout seating projects from 3 Days of Design in Copenhagen
At the 3 Days of Design festival in Copenhagen (June 10–12, 2026), over 400 exhibitors presented a wide range of design objects. Among them, seven seating projects stood out for their innovative use of materials and form. Mesura designed a butter-yellow conversation pit for Vipp, accommodating over 60 people using modular sofa elements and stainless steel ladders. Romain Basile Petrot's Break a Leg chair, crafted from bent aluminum pieces, was unveiled at a group show by Deoron. Carlo Raymann's Crisscut Bench, made from silver fir slabs, was part of the A Prima Vista exhibition of Finnish design at Lokal Gallery. The Crude duo (Sofie Winther and Charles Boyte) upcycled mass-produced dining chairs with distressed leather skins from old sofas for the Other Circle exhibition. Lasse Sylvest Lilleør presented a sun lounger with a spinal-column-like structure made from glossy UV-resistant plastic at the Ukurant exhibition. Christine Kalia repurposed aluminum window components into a dining chair, armchair, and bench, also at Other Circle. Kwangho Lee's Ghost in the Shell armchair, a white knotted piece with a marshmallow-like appearance but solid plastic structure, was shown at V1 Salon's For Scale Only group show.
