Seokguram Grotto Exhibition Opens at Korean Cultural Center in Paris

exhibition · 2026-10-03

An exhibition dedicated to the Seokguram Grotto is currently being showcased at the Korean Cultural Center in Paris, marking the 140th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Korea and France. This event is organized in collaboration with the Korea Heritage Service, Gyeongju, and the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage, located at 20 Rue La Boétie, Paris. Seokguram, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1995 and constructed during the Unified Silla period (668–935), features works by photographer Han Seokhong. The exhibition also includes a 360° projection of Gyeongju's historical landmarks and interactive elements. Contemporary artists such as Kim Eunha, Lee Seung-chul, Son Daehyun, and Studio Shinyoo provide fresh interpretations of this cultural legacy. Beginning November 23, visitors can engage with a new immersive exhibition that offers a virtual tour of the grotto. Furthermore, "Gyeongju, the Open-Air Museum" will be available from October 1, 2026, until March 13, 2027.
