Secret Arts Teachers present classroom art at Framer Framed

The Secret Arts Teachers (SAT) project, an initiative of the Amsterdam University of the Arts' lectorate of Art Education, culminates in a group exhibition at Framer Framed in Amsterdam from September 12 to 27, 2026. The project features three teachers from Vlaardingen: Tessa S., Naomi J., and Jesse van D. Tessa S., whose grandfather was a known forger of 17th-century paintings, worked with PABO students and primary school pupils to explore forgery as a creative process. Her installation documents their process in word, sound, and image. Naomi J. presents 'De Mislukte Verzameling' (The Failed Collection), an installation of discarded student artworks rescued from classroom trash bins, highlighting perfectionism and self-doubt among secondary school students. Jesse van D. stages 'Tijdtekening' (Time Drawing), a performance outside Framer Framed where an entire primary school creates a temporary sand artwork that fades over a week.
