Sculpture by the Sea 2026 Brings Beachside Works to Bondi

Bondi's coastline hosted the 2026 edition of Sculpture by the Sea, documented in a photo essay published by The Guardian on 18 October 2026. Visitors encountered Nenad Milovanović's Support IV, photographed by Izhar Khan for AFP/Getty Images, while Andre Braun's Surface Breach drew a standing onlooker in a Hollie Adams/Reuters image. Jimmy Rix contributed Silent Crossing, captured by Jack Giam for Getty Images, and Tim Storrier presented Wayfarer in a photograph by George Chan for AAP. A runner was pictured passing Dr Wayne Hudson's Awkward Love, and Dr Peter Tilley showed Dignity Within the Everyday. Emma Anna's DREAM_N appeared alongside Lu Lu's Ascent in a single George Chan/AAP frame, while a man photographed Pinnacle by Clayton Blake. Martin John Oldfield's Revel Sticks and Sweethearts by Flim Flam Studio were also on view, the latter shot by Jack Giam. The Guardians came from Ulan and Rachel, and children ran through James Tapscott's Ex-Halo in a Hollie Adams/Reuters photograph. Elyssa Sykes-Smith's Seed, Michael Le Grand's Primal Echo, Dr Tianli Zu's After the Tide and Harrie Fisher's Unveiling the Edges of the Sky completed the pictured selection. The outdoor format places large-scale sculpture directly on sand and rock, open to passersby rather than ticketed gallery audiences.
