Schopfer Associates Designs Freedom Ship Floating City for Global Cruising

Freedom Cruise Line International, Inc. has unveiled Freedom Ship, a floating city concept designed as a global cruising vessel and urban-scale marine environment. The Florida-based company appointed Schopfer Associates LLC, led by architect E. Kevin Schopfer AIA, RIBA, as lead design practice. The project extends from an engineering proposal into a structured living environment, integrating architectural planning, spatial organization, and long-distance mobility. The design scope includes urban districts, public spaces, circulation systems, and a cohesive visual identity, combining large-scale architectural strategies with marine engineering requirements. The vessel operates as a continuous global route across international waters, functioning as both transportation infrastructure and an inhabitable urban system.
