Satoru Kurata's First European Solo Show Opens in a Long-Closed Cremona Church Theater

Galleria Triangolo has reopened the former theater of the Church of San Luca in Cremona, Italy, which had been closed since 1983 due to safety regulations enacted after the Cinema Statuto fire in Turin. The venue now hosts "Everyday, Mostly Night, Sometimes Daylight," the first European solo exhibition of Japanese artist Satoru Kurata (born 1991 in Tokyo). The show runs until August 1, 2026, at Viale Trento e Trieste 1. The theater was originally part of the Barnabite Fathers complex, where the Circolo Zaccaria was founded in 1909, evolving from a late-19th-century oratory into a cultural hub for theater and, from the 1920s, cinema. The dialogue between Kurata's works and the decaying architecture is integral to the project.
