On March 30, a large satirical sculpture titled 'A Throne Fit For A King' was installed on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. The group stated via email that the work is a 'tribute' to what they see as Trump's tangible achievement in transforming a standard bathroom into a lavish, gold-accented space. Secret Handshake has secured a permit allowing the sculpture to remain in place for several days, with hired security guards overseeing the installation until 6 pm daily. The artwork's placement on the west side of the National Mall follows recent large-scale anti-Trump demonstrations known as the No Kings protests. This installation is part of a series of provocative works by the group, including a giant Trump-Epstein birthday card displayed in January and a golden statue depicting Trump and Epstein as Titanic lovers in March. The sculpture's unveiling occurs amidst broader criticism of Trump's expensive redesign projects, such as a proposed $300 million ballroom requiring East Wing demolition, which have faced scrutiny for their design quality and funding transparency. The timing also coincides with the administration's installation of a Christopher Columbus statue replica and legal action by eight architectural and arts groups against Trump and the Kennedy Center board over planned renovations.
