Sarah Melen's Passenger Perspective at Treignac Projet

Sarah Melen, born in Rouen in 1998 and based in Meymac, presents an exhibition at Treignac Projet that originates from her experience as a passenger without a driving license in rural Corrèze. Her position as a co-pilot—both inside and outside the car, focused on the landscape beyond the window—shapes her attention to marginal, fleeting sights. In the sparsely lit rural territories of Corrèze and Creuse, night travel is common, and car headlights create brutal, tearing illuminations that reveal unintended apparitions. The exhibition grows from this phenomenon. Melen is also active in the artist collective Fossil Future, part of a scene exploring art-making as a mode of life within rural contexts.
