Sandra Val Opens Espacio Valverde Season with Porcelain and Geometry Show

The solo exhibition "Juguemos a Gato en un Toro" by Sandra Val will be held at Espacio Valverde in Madrid from 10 September to 28 October 2026. This exhibition delves into the themes of playful geometry and ceramics, drawing its name from the game of tic-tac-toe played on a torus, a crucial shape in particle acceleration and magnetic nuclear fusion. Curator Claudia Rodríguez-Ponga emphasizes the unstable aspects of games and geometries that challenge the stability of rules. The displayed forms are reminiscent of chess pieces and other items, with porcelain representing both creation and destruction. Historically, porcelain was integral to Chinese imperial traditions and utilized in toroidal reactors during the 1950s and 1960s. Born in Tarragona in 1979, Sandra Val earned her Fine Arts degree in 2011 and a Master's in Art and Creation Research.
