Salon du dessin 2026 Draws Global Audience and Major Museum Acquisitions

The 34th Salon du dessin, held in 2026, achieved significant international recognition with substantial attendance and sales. Over 14,000 visitors attended the event, including 2,300 during the private viewing session. Hundreds of drawings were purchased throughout the fair. Nearly 500 museum curators from institutions worldwide participated, with strong representation from both American and European organizations. Notable attending institutions included the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, the Cleveland Museum of Art, Amsterdam's Rijksmuseum, the Staatliche Museum in Karlsruhe, Hamburg's Kunsthalle, Ottawa's National Gallery of Canada, London's British Museum, and Stockholm's Nationalmuseum. French cultural organizations were also well represented, with curators from the Louvre, Petit Palais, Musée d'Orsay, Centre Pompidou, Château de Fontainebleau, Chantilly, and Versailles in attendance. Numerous regional museums also sent representatives. The event demonstrated the continued importance of drawing as a medium within the international art market and institutional collecting practices.
