Sabina Alessi's Ceramic Kite Flags and Antonio Passa's 1,618 Close at Fondazione Menna, Rome
At the Fondazione Menna in Rome, Sabina Alessi presented her installation titled L'Europa in volo. Verso nuove dimensioni della conoscenza, which was curated by Raffaele Simongini in collaboration with ARCI Nazionale. This exhibit showcases twenty-seven ceramic sculptures, each measuring 85 x 57 cm, symbolizing EU member states through their flag colors, with the French flag positioned at the forefront and the Ukrainian flag placed on the ground. Meanwhile, the solo exhibition 1,618 by Antonio Passa, curated by Antonello Tolve, came to a close. The event featured musical performances, including electronic music by Riccardo Santoboni and a cello performance by Fiorenzo, who interpreted Paul Hindemith's Sonata for Solo Cello, op. 25 no. 3. Santoboni also composed the original piece Stati di materia for Alessi's installation, exploring themes of plurality and belonging.
