Ruy Ohtake's Bioparque Pantanal Opens in Campo Grande
In 2022, the Bioparque Pantanal was inaugurated in Campo Grande, Brazil, following the vision of architect Ruy Ohtake and his firm, ohtake. Spanning 26,000 square meters, the facility combines both a science center and a park, emphasizing the significance of lakes and lagoons worldwide. Strategically positioned along a prominent thoroughfare, the biopark is characterized by its eye-catching zinc facade and energy-efficient double-glazed windows. A dedicated team, including Alfred Talaat, Lilian Wexler, and others, oversaw the project, which also involved technical contributions from Eduardo Prieto. Curator Susanna Moreira aims to enhance local research and community involvement in the Pantanal ecosystem.
