Ruth Asawa, Leonor Fini and the Blue Rider Women Lead a Packed Autumn Art Weekend
Riehen/Basel's Fondation Beyeler honors Ruth Asawa's centenary with her inaugural European retrospective, displaying more than 200 pieces until 10 January 2027. Asawa, who passed away in 2013, began her wire-looping technique in Mexico in 1947 after experiencing internment during WWII. Meanwhile, Leonor Fini's first retrospective in Germany is on view at the Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt am Main, featuring approximately 100 artworks until 21 February 2027. In Dresden, the Kupferstich-Kabinett showcases over 100 drawings by Joseph Beuys until 17 January 2027. Peter Wächtler's solo exhibition "Ständig" is at Berlin's Haus am Waldsee until 17 January 2027, while the Landesmuseum in Wiesbaden displays "Die Blauen Reiterinnen" until 21 February 2027. The Grassimesse at Leipzig's Grassi Museum continues until 25 October.
