Russia Threatens UK Military Targets Over Ukraine Missile Tech Transfer

On Thursday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned that Russia could strike British military targets both inside and outside Ukraine in response to Ukrainian strikes using British-supplied missiles. She urged Britain to abandon its 'hostile' stance on Ukraine, which she claimed could escalate the conflict to an entirely new level. Earlier in the same Moscow briefing, Zakharova accused Britain and France of 'playing with fire' by transferring sensitive missile technology to Ukraine. This follows Britain's announcement on Monday that it would allow Kyiv access to classified technology to begin domestic production of Storm Shadow long-range cruise missiles, capable of striking deep within Russia. France has also granted a license for the technology for the European missile. Additionally, the Kremlin dismissed US media reports suggesting Russia might attack a NATO member state and that CIA Director John Ratcliffe's visit to Moscow this week was intended to warn against such an action. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov responded, 'A lot of this kind of scare-story material is being published right now. Of course, it has nothing to do with reality and nothing to do with the intentions of the Russian Federation.'
