Born Rosellina Marconi into a well-to-do Genoese bourgeois family, she moved to Milan to study economics and commerce at the Catholic University, though she later admitted she did not enjoy it. In 1958, she married Alberico Archinto, a name with centuries of significance in Milan, and together they had five children. The Archinto family is described as a united, supportive, and inclusive clan, with additional upbringing influenced by Marcello Bernardi, a renowned pediatrician and educator.
