Romain Muller and Lily Bonnel Take the POPUP! Stage with French Pop

Romain Muller brings French chanson into synthpop and electronic territory, with disco accents and the stated aim of making sensitive hearts dance. His hushed voice carries both dreamy ballads with persistent refrains and tracks built on catchy riffs and more intense energy. He constructs a modern pop full of nuance, where atmospheric elegance in the French touch manner meets the sensuality and groove of neo-disco influences. The lyrics are simple but carefully chosen, conceived as a succession of snapshots intertwining life moments, childhood memories and nocturnal wanderings. Lily Bonnel, a songwriter, composer and producer, is also on the POPUP! bill. Influenced by electro and alternative pop, she explores the intimate territories of love, femininity, desire and introspection. Writing holds a central place in her work: each text is born from her emotion-antennae, fragments of herself that she transforms into sonic material.
