Rode Releases Free RodeCaster Video 1.4 Firmware Adding 4K Capture and NDI Distribution
Rode has introduced RodeCaster Video 1.4, a complimentary firmware upgrade for its video production consoles: RodeCaster Video, RodeCaster Video S, and RodeCaster Video Core. A standout feature of this update is the 4K capture mode, which allows for four 4Kp60 feeds on the RodeCaster Video and three on the other models, outputting NDI streams that work with OBS and eCamm Live. Each 4K input can be recorded as a separate track in either H.264 or H.265 formats, though some features are limited in 4K mode. Additionally, a 1080p60 capture mode is included. Firmware 1.4 also enhances RodeCaster Sync for the original RodeCaster Video and RodeCaster Video S. Notable updates comprise OTIO timeline export for Adobe Premiere Pro and USB webcam support. The RodeCaster Video was unveiled exactly two years ago today.
