Rocco Smart Fridge Drops Prices as New Essential Model Debuts
Rocco's retro-styled smart wine cooler and minifridge, which scans and catalogs its own contents for remote viewing via app, is now discounted by $200 on Graphite, Cream, Beige, and Green finishes, with a free case of Laurel's Lattes included for buyers during the promotion. The sale follows the fall launch of the Essential, a lower-priced model discounted $100, which holds 77 cans versus the Classic's 88 and launches in Cream, Sage, and Graphite. Both units share the compressor used in Sub-Zero refrigerators, reaching 34 degrees Fahrenheit, which Rocco calls the coldest fridge it has made. WIRED contributor Andrew Watman reviewed the original in 2024, scoring it 7 out of 10 and praising its drink-recognition library, from OoMee algae-infused beverage to canned Yaté yerba mate. The app also controls lighting and temperature remotely. Several new colors are reportedly coming soon. WIRED has an Essential unit en route for testing.
