Robin Hunter-Blake's 'Severe Mercy' at Studio Iron, The Painting Rooms, Covent Garden
Isamaya Ffrench's Studio Iron, a concept store and gallery, is showcasing 'Severe Mercy,' an exhibition by British-American artist, photographer, and director Robin Hunter-Blake at The Painting Rooms in Covent Garden, running until 27 October. Curated by Ffrench, the exhibition features works from Studio Iron that engage with Hunter-Blake’s art through themes of materiality, tension, humor, and sensuality, creating an immersive experience rather than a mere collection of distinct disciplines. Hunter-Blake’s work combines photography, kinetic installations, and screen printing to evoke emotions and perceptions of time. The abstract pieces challenge viewers with their scale and form, inviting personal interpretation while addressing themes of emptiness and emotional intensity. Ffrench hopes visitors will focus on their feelings rather than categorizing the art.
