Robin F. Williams Debuts Eight Paintings at P.P.O.W's First International Solo Show

exhibition · 2026-10-13

Brooklyn-based painter Robin F. Williams has created eight new paintings, including I Am Not a Robot (2026), that explore the intersection of rapid technological advancement, religion, and internet-fueled psychosis. The works are on view at New York gallery P.P.O.W in what is described as the gallery's first-ever international solo exhibition. In I Am Not a Robot, a figure with an infinity-sign-shaped halo gazes into a smartphone. Williams explained that the character is simultaneously a tarot figure, a Catholic angel, a New Age light being, and an alien, ultimately confused about her role amid technology's present reign. The artist believes the constant digital overload is producing a strange, ecstatic loosening of grip, ushering in a moment of rapturous New Age spirituality. The exhibition also includes Spooky Action at a Distance (2026). All works are dated 2026. Williams is based in Brooklyn and spoke about the series in their studio there.
