Roberto Casti's 'A Melody from the Outside' at Simóndi Gallery, Turin

Simóndi Gallery in Turin presents 'A Melody from the Outside,' the first solo exhibition by artist and musician Roberto Casti (born 1992 in Iglesias, lives between Milan and Iglesias). The show explores interdependence between individual and community, human and planet, audience and artwork. The exhibition text was written collaboratively using the 'exquisite corpse' method, where each contributor only saw the preceding paragraph's last word. Francesca Simondi reflects on soundscape as a complex web triggering memories, citing R. Murray Schafer's 'The Soundscape,' Thoreau's 'Walden,' and John Cage's '4'33''. The exhibition includes works: 'ARIA' (graphite translations of outside noises), 'From the Depths of the Earth' (sound installation transforming a room into a haunted space), 'Aleph (Milan-Berlin-Lisbon-Milan-Putignano-Turin)' (typewriter sculpture with public questions), 'Disegni verdi' (tracing paper folds), and 'Suggestion (Graça District, Lisbon)' (photographic work blurring public/private boundaries). The show runs until June 27, 2026.
