Rob Brydon Regrets Declining Dolly Parton Interview Opportunity

Rob Brydon, famed for portraying Uncle Bryn in Gavin and Stacey, revealed his regret about declining an interview with the late Dolly Parton. In his BBC documentary series 'Honky Tonk Road Trip', Brydon explored Dollywood, Parton's amusement park, where her family traced their roots back to Wales. After filming, he had the opportunity to interview Parton but opted for a family vacation in Arizona instead. Parton passed away peacefully in a Nashville hospital on 25 August after a short fight with cancer, having been hospitalized four days prior due to kidney and autoimmune complications. In a conversation with Lucy Owen on BBC Radio Wales, Brydon expressed his wish he had seized the chance to meet her. He also discussed his upcoming children's book, 'The Cat in the Cupboard', releasing on 10 September, which tells the story of Crumble the ginger cat's garden escapades, inspired by tales he created for his children. He acknowledged the influence of 'The Owl and the Pussycat' and commended teachers for their appreciation of his vocabulary. Additionally, Brydon mentioned his Gavin and Stacey co-writers, Ruth Jones and James Corden, expressing excitement for their new project 'The Choir', and noted the lively WhatsApp group among the cast.
