RITORNI: Long-Term Art Project Reactivates Sicily's Madonie Hinterland

Artist Luca Pantina launches RITORNI, a long-term transformation process in Catalani, a hamlet in Sicily's Madonie Park, from August 5–7, 2026. Unlike a festival or residency, RITORNI focuses on listening, walking, sharing, and caring for places. Pantina, who lives between Sicily and Andalusia, restored his mother's birthplace into a home-studio and created AtelierStudioNica, which will house the project's living archive of photographs, documents, and artworks. The first edition, titled 'Presenze nel paesaggio,' features artists Elisabetta De Luca and Sylvie Riant, with a tribute to the late Federico Guzma. Activities include walks, workshops, and conversations open to the public. Local businesses like B&B La Terrazza sulle Madonie and agriturismo Il Gelso support the event. Pantina aims to value local human and landscape heritage without altering its character, fostering a slower, more attentive tourism. The archive, curated with photographer Pietro Di Girolamo, will preserve interviews and images from participatory moments.
