RICHAUS by Vari Architects: A Contemporary Geometric Volume in Southwest China

architecture-design · 2026-10-07

RICHAUS, a mixed-use and commercial building designed by Vari Architects, was completed in 2024 in the mountainous terrain of southwest China. The 8,000 m² project, led by principal architects Qi Fan and Jiang Yinan, with project architects Xu Feihong, He Zhaolong, Qiu Jingtong, and Gu Weiming, aims to create an intertwined relationship between architecture, nature, and people within an urban regeneration context. The design transforms a neglected office building into a public cultural node connecting culture, community, industry, and commerce, evolving into a more open and abundant community center. Photographs were taken by Qingbo Wu and Wenqiao Zhu. The project was curated by Han Shuang, with writing by Xu Xiaoyi and Wang Liu.
