Richard Peduzzi Takes Over Musée d'Orsay Architecture Cabinet for Museum's 40th Anniversary
Richard Peduzzi, the scenographer known for his work with Patrice Chéreau, will occupy the Musée d'Orsay's architecture cabinet from October 6, 2026 to January 17, 2027. The exhibition, titled "Vertige," marks the museum's fortieth anniversary and features paintings, drawings, sculptures, and models. At the heart of the nave, Peduzzi's model of the Opéra Garnier—constructed for the museum's opening—sits in a display case, surrounded by Haussmann's Paris. The show is haunted by three obsessions: walls, towers, and ruins. These architectural designs transformed 1970s theatre, from Massacre à Paris to Lulu, teaching the stage to perform before stone. The exhibition includes responses to Viollet-le-Duc, Le Bas, and Eiffel, drawn from the museum's collections. The museum is located at Espl. Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, 75007 Paris, near Solférino (line 12) and RER C. Opening hours are daily except Monday, 9:30–18:00, with late hours on Thursday until 21:45. Admission is €16, reduced €13, and free for those under 18. The project underscores Peduzzi's lasting impact on scenography and architectural display.
