Rezzett Discuss Their Role in Palace Skateboards' Creative Universe

In an interview with Wallpaper*, the music production duo Rezzett—comprising Jackson and Luke—discuss their work with Palace Skateboards, their creative process, and their inspirations. Rezzett, who have been making music together professionally for 13 years, describe their role as music producers and composers, creating everything from simple tunes to complex compositions. Their collaboration with Palace often begins with a specific request from Stuart Hammond, Palace's lead creative, and involves a quick turnaround, but they appreciate the trust and enthusiasm Palace places in their collaborators. Jackson recalls meeting Rory Milanes at a club night, which led to connections with Will Bankhead of The Trilogy Tapes and eventually to working with Palace's founders Lev Tanju and Gareth Skewis. The duo recently released a 21-track album titled 'Into the Boiling Darks' and are preparing for live shows. Jackson has also acquired a rare Polish drum machine. Their inspirations include London, happy hardcore, the Coen Brothers, and Potential Bad Boy. They recommend the films of Les Blank and Guy Sherwin's Optical Sound Films. Jackson mentions Terry's Cafe in SE1 and Sicilia in Roppongi, Tokyo, as favorite restaurants, while Luke recommends Estrela d'Ouro in Lisbon. Palace Skateboards was founded in 2009 by Lev Tanju and Gareth Skewis, with Stuart Hammond as a founding member of the Wayward Boys Choir skate crew.
