Restaurante SON by pinto: A Self-Created Spatial Experience Under Casuarina Trees
Restaurante SON, designed by architecture firm pinto, is a 260 m² restaurant located in Tambon Noen Phra, Rayong, Thailand, set to complete in 2026. Curated by Miwa Negoro, the project is situated beneath casuarina trees along the main road from Rayong city to the beach, occupying a small garden surrounded by ocean-view restaurants, mangrove edges, and river terraces. Rather than competing with a dramatic site, the restaurant creates its own environment and spatial experience. The lead architect is Jiranothai Vachanavuttivong, with technical support from Pat Kasornpath. Materials include APK brick, Dulux, earth colors, and tyk glass. Photographs are by W Workspace.
